Marj Hogarth

Marj HogarthAn actor, singer and perfomer, Marj first trod the boards playing Lucy Lockit in John Gay’s The Beggar’s Opera and has not stopped working since, from the award winning Clyde Unity Theatre production of Accustomed to her Face, to Kevin’s Bed which required Marj to speak in Italian for the first half of the play.

Marj is currently involved with Rough Cuts, the monthly showcase of top comedy writing.

Her television exploits take in the cream of Celtic comedy, including The Karen Dunbar Show, Only An Excuse?, Channel 4’s Tank Commander and her role as Jack’s daughter in the critically acclaimed Still Game.

Marj HogarthMarj has a passion for radio fuelled by an obsession with the Archers, and has performed in various productions for Radio 4 and Radio Scotland including Ronan the Amphibian, Coming Home, and Jackie Bird’s Having it All. More recently Marj has added voice over skills to her repertoire bringing to life characters from the film Rogue Farm and alongside Jack Davenport, Helen Baxendale and Simon Pegg in Psychotica.

Music plays a major role in Marj’s life and work and has played her first live gig at the age of 15. She has been working live and in the studio ever since and recently supplied vocals for the Mylo album Destroy Rock n’ Roll.

This Christmas, Marj will be appearing as the Wicked Queen in pantomime at Motherwell Civic theatre.
